What We Offer

Our shop and bar is set within a former Maltings in Newton Abbot, Devon, right next to the Templars Way footpath and cycle route. Here you will find a wonderful array of beers,  handpicked by our team of craft beer specialists.

We stock well over 200 craft and traditional beers brewed here in the South West, the wider UK and far beyond. See our draft beer menu below to find out what we have on tap right now.

We offer a relaxed and intimate environment; where you can sit, surrounded by all manner of items and artefacts from the days when Malt was produced within the very same walls.

The tables, benches and even the bar top are made using recycled wood from the old storage bins which had been used to hold barley before germinating and kilning for over a century. The aroma still exudes from these (you may notice the aroma as you step inside).

Here you will find no jukebox, no TVs, just quality conversation and even better beer served from one of our 17 keg and cask lines from some of the freshest and finest brewers around. We also have a range of low and no alcohol drinks, ciders, wines and wide selection of artisan spirits including Black Dog gin which is produced within the building!

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes and from 2022 we will be offering simple food using fresh local ingredients prepared in our lovely new kitchen.

We also have some exciting plans for events, live music, tap takeovers and much much more so follow us on all the Socials to keep up to date!

Great choice of ales on draught and a huge selection in bottles and cans to takeaway. Highly recommended. Friendly and chilled out environment.

We came across this place quite by chance while walking the Templers Way and it was a godsend on a hot and thirsty day. Incredible array of beers and some genuine effort has gone into selecting decent real ales and craft beers.
